Pacquiao Accepts Drug Test To Fight Mayweather

Pacquiao accepts Drug Test to fight Mayweather.  Pacquiao and Mayweather Fight will now be a reality after Pacquiao announced he is now willing that both of them, Pacquiao and Mayweather, undergo drug test before their fight and to be administered by an independent body, more particularly the Olympic drug testing body that oversee the testing for illegal use of drugs during the Olympic Games. It is hoped by Pacquiao that Mayweather will now fight him to prove once and for all who the real no. 1 pound-for-pound champion is.  A pacquiao and Mayweather fight is what the world is waiting for and surely, this development is most welcome to the boxing world eager to see Pacquiao and Mayweather fight.

It is highly hoped that Mayweather will now accept to fight Pacquiao since all his conditions before he is willing to fight Pacquiao is already meet.  Many boxing pundits see this announcement of Pacquiao as a way to force Mayweather to accept his challenge and fight him.  Actually, this move by Pacquiao is for all the boxing fans who wants to watch Pacquiao and Mayweather fight.  

There are some boxing analyst who would say that a match between Pacquiao and Mayweather would be a dream fight for many boxing fans.   The only thing that can hamper this match up of course is if Mayweather would again find some reason  not to fight Pacquiao.  Another factor would be if he do decides to fight Pacquiao, but lost in his coming fight with Victor Ortiz for the WBC Welterweight World championship on September 17, 2011.  Surely, his purse would be diminished once he lost his fight since the glamor of his stature as a no lost boxing champ is already broken by Ortiz , even before he would fight Pacquiao.

Now the best thing to happen there would be for Floyd Mayweather to win his assignment against Victor Ortiz and then accept the challenge of Pacquiao to fight him.  If this happens, certainly, Pacquiao and Mayweather may then be able to undertake a boxing fight that nearly people who know their boxing, would want to happen.

Mayweather - Paper Champion?

Commentaries on Mayweather being a paper champion is now going around, primarily because of his refusal to fight Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino no. 1 pound-for-pound champion and presently Congressman of the Sarangani District of the Philippines.  According to Sports Illustrated, if Mayweather still does not fight Pacquiao, Mayweather will remain a 'paper champion.' 

Incidentally, this was also the opinion expressed by my frind 'Asyong, ' a one-time boxer himself and who follows all the news related to the prospect of a match between Pacquiao and Mayweather.  Over a cup of brewed coffee yesterday morning after a 30 minute jogging, I found my friend having coffee and chatted with him about the chance for what they call the fight that everybody wanted to happen between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

After talking about the weather condition and checking his new smartphone for the latest weather update, we then shifted our topic to the latest boxing news that Mayweather has brazenly announced that Pacquiao is gonna be next!  My friend, smiling knowingly, said that he thinks Floyd 'money' Mayweather may not be able to taste his first defeat from Pacquiao.  He explained that from all indications and the way he analyze the situation, Mayweather will taste his first defeat in his coming fight with Victor Ortiz, comes  September 17, 2011.

My friend believes that Victor Ortiz has a chance of knocking out Mayweather with the power he has with his left hand.  Considering the youth advantage and the power, any quickness that Mayweather still have might fall along the road once Victor Ortiz will catch him.  He asked me if I had the chance to see the fight of Ortiz when he defeated Berto, the former WBC Welterweight champion. He told me that I better see the fight at You Tube since it is now considered as a good pick to become the fight of the year.

My friend further added that he do not see any chance of having the Mayweather vs Ortiz becoming the fight of the year mainly because of the dancing defense of Mayweather.   

Manny Pacquiao, You Are Next - Mayweather

Pacquiao and Mayweather will at long last be able to hold their much awaited fight of the century? Manny boxing analyst would think so, after Mayweather in an interview, brashly announced " Manny Pacquiao, you are next!" This announcement was done on TV which we were able to watch today, dated July 1, 2011, a Friday.

This announcement by Mayweather flew like wildfire on text to nearly every cellphone and smart phone numbering more than 80 million units across the width and breath of the Philippine Archipelago. Wow! I told myself upon hearing the announcement of Mayweather. At long last, the boxing world will know if who is the better boxer between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Oh well, I cautioned myself from getting too much excited about this remarkable remark of Mayweather since we have already seen and heard how Mayweather and his camp together with his father the stop then go and again stop attitude when it comes to fighting Pacquiao.  Remember the blood test and the money sharing and then again back to the blood test?  Actually, remembering these, dampens my excitement and enthusiasm in a Pacquiao and Mayweather  fight. 

I really do not know the rationale behind the attitude of Mayweather and his camp, even that of his father.  If this is again another strategy to make the boxing world understand that Mayweather is not afraid to fight Pacquiao, then make it happen, since nearly everybody seemed to believe otherwise.
